DopeVideo88 has a Twitter! ahhhhhh
I have a Twitter, what is the world coming to. But seriously this is gonna be crucial for me and you guys.
Twitter for those of you who don't know is,a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them.(Wikipedia)
For a while I was posting bulletins on the YouTube page that were the same idea as Twitter, just little blurbs but I am almost positive no one was reading them. With Twitter it will be much easier for you guys to stay updated on whats going on.
So go on Twitter.Com/DopeVideo88 and sign up, and start following me its super fast and easy, and free.
No really you need to "Follow" me, it's the same thing as subscribing on YouTube.
So from seeing when the next video is coming out to what artist I'm talking to it will be ill for you guys to get that insight into the DopeVideo88 life ha.Also once your signed up and a "Follower" of me, you can talk directly to me on there and reply to my posts so its gonna be sick once all you get on there!
Friday Poll-Would You Rather Have Your Favorite Underground Artist...
Stay Underground? Achieve Successes?
The new poll is finally here. It is extremely simple, only two choices. Go over to the side, read the question and vote on a choice. Leave a comment on the result page as well since this is a somewhat controversial question and a lot of people care about it. The poll will end next Friday so get to it.
KAWS is a former graffiti artist,he does real art now, you know gallery shit and even did Kayne West's latest album cover for "808's and Heartbreak" and all those ill color full promos. (Click To Enlarge)
Kaws is an amazing artist, just watch the video. Click high quality in the bottom right hand corner.
Hassani Kwess - "Woke Up In A Dream ft. Utada Hikaru"
This is the third leaked track from Hassani Kwess' Mixtape "D.R.E.A.M.".
I posted up the first single from the mixtape a few weeks ago so put Kwess into the search bar to the side and listen to that, it has the Nas/ what you know as The Cool Kids 88 sample for the chorus/beat,its hot.
I am really feeling this song, its kind of different but it is really dope. This is definitely what we need right now in hip hop. Not the same old thing getting re done over and over.
Every time I watch this video I get the song and video a little bit more. At about 7 seconds into the video a cell phone rises across the top of the screen, with the number "Yoome" being shown on the screen. The person who picks the phone up does not answer the call. From what I understand the person being depicted in this video is "Richard", a former band member. Things went sour and he left/got kicked out of the band. This song is being written/sung from his perspective. Richard is the one writing the letter in the video, how cool is that? He signs his name at the very end of the video, on the letter to Yoome to confirm that it is actually him being depicted in the video and him writing the letter/singing the song.
Listen to the song yourself and see what you get out of it.
I really love this song and this video made it ten times better, I think you guys will dig it too. Watch the video in high quality and leave a comment over on the YouTube video comment box here. Chances are the members of Yoome will read what you say, so that's pretty dope.
Seel Fresh GrindTime Midwest Mc Battle Footage (Video)
Seel Fresh wins his first match-up in the Midwest division of the grind time mc battle league. The event went down January 31st, 2009 in Indianapolis. Seel Fresh went up against Arias of Indianapolis and showed him how Chicago gets down on the battle tip, winning the bout with a unanimous decision in three rounds. Seel Fresh is scheduled to battle (the 06 scribble jam runner up) Tut of Cleveland on March 28, 2009 in Chicago.
I'm not really a fan of the whole rap battle scene, but this video got sent to me curtosy of Rapstar Inc. Each dude clearly has their material rehearsed and research done on each other, not too much of a freestyle to me. Other than that it was okay...
Yoome Video Premiering on DopeVideo88 Today at 5 P.M
Yoome's official music video for the song "Gone Away" of their debut album "The Boredem of Me" will be premiering on the DopeVideo88 YouTube channel today at 5 P.M. IN HIGH QUALITY!
Open your taste buds and get ready for some real music.
So it turns out that the video The Cool Kids were shooting with Twista was for this song. This track will be featured on Skooda's upcoming album "Skooda Chose!: The Heir Up There." Yeah who cares, this track is pretty lame if you ask me, and it is not featuring The Cool Kids, it is featuring Mikey Rocks of The Cool Kids. Word is the video will be filmed around various locations of Chicago,so no video hoes I guess. Check the track out below.
P.S The Yoome official music video in high quality will be premiering on the DopeVideo88 YouTube channel tommrow,Tuesday the 24Th( at around 5 P.M to be exact) So get amped for that! (Don't know who Yoome is? Check the video two posts down)
N.A.S.A is the duo of Squeak E. Clean (DJ/producer/composer Sam Spiegel, brother of director Spike Jonze) and DJ Zegon (DJ/producer/professional skateboarder Ze Gonzales), back the bill-counting with hot funk licks and humid beats. Syd Garon and Paul Griswold direct the video, which uses art by Shepard Fairey.(PitchforkMedia)
Naledge- "Cake-a-holic" feat. Young Chris and Bighomie Doe Boy [Track]
Naledge keeps banging out these tracks, and "Cake-a-holic" is no different. Featuring Young Chris and Bighomie Doe boy(right in picture above),this is definitely one of my favortie from Naledge and the Braniac crew.
You guys really were right with that poll, Kid Cudi is "Blowin' up" this year.Any ideas for the next poll?
Anyway, Kayne West is really pushing Kid Cudi lately all over the place. On the latest edition of Kayne West pimps out Kid Cudi, they stop by at 106 & Park. They both spit verses, Cudi's was on the lame side, but Kayne spit his verse from Rick Ross's "Maybach Music 2."You know the whole 50 cent-Rick Ross beef bullshit, who would of known Kayne is on Ross' side...haha.
Naledge of the hip hop duo Kidz In The Hall has been putting out a lot of tracks lately via the Internet, this is one of them. This track reps Chicago to the fullest, but do I even need to say that? Just listen to the damn track, and listen to all the shout outs.
"Which "XXL Top Ten Freshmen" Will Blow Up The Biggest In This Upcoming Year?"
Wewwwww, this poll got way out of hand. I was planning on letting this poll run about 2 weeks, that's a good amount of time right? But I think I forgot about it, or I forgot how to get rid of it, or maybe it was such a good poll...
Anyway, Kid Cudi Came away in 1st place and with 37% of the vote. I guess "Day and Night" and that connection with Kayne has just pushed him over the edge. Wale was a far 2nd with 17% of the vote and Mickey Factz came away with the percentage tie breaker at 11% for 3rd place with Asher Roth.
There was some great debating going on on the results page of the poll, and I love to see that, so that is dope, lets keep that going for the next poll.
Okay so the next poll will be up soon, and it will only be up for a limited time... not months. So keep checking for it...I'm building anticipation...
Just like Snoop himself said back in the nine-deuce...MATW's creepin' while ya sleepin'. SLIMY GRIMY DOPE, and its on sale damn! Who wants to buy this for me? Check it at Karma in the link section to the side.
Hassani Kwess sent me this track "Jackin' For Plays", it's on his new mixtape "The Mixtape's Day Off". Kwess produced this track himself, and the tracks POPS! Its super dope, thats why its on here, so take a listen for yourself.
Pugs shot me this track and another track earlier today, this one is super hot. The next track will be up soon and it is just as dope, maybe doper...just wait.
What's more hood than North Face, in bright neon colors? NOTHING! Forget those vests and those t-shirts, take a look at the Windbreaker/Jackets! Those are straight DOPE! These are part of the Spring/Summer 2009 Line, so your gonna have to wait on them a little, but they are definitely worth the wait.

Pugs Atomz - "The General" Produced by Mulatto Patriot
This track is from Mulatto Patriot's Sonic Visuals LP. Pugs Atomz directed and edited this video himself.
The video is so sick, nice 90's real hip hop feel, but not like hes trying to make it like that or anything. The song draws you in with that beat and chorus, and with Pugs Atomz's voice and lyrics the song is a wrap.
Pugs Atomz has been around for a while,he has four officially released albums out since 2000, already got his video spun on MTV and done countless coast to coast tours in that time...
Keep checking back on the site for the official piece on Pugs Atomz along with an interview from myself.
This is the 2nd Single Of Prince's Debut upcoming Album entitled "Saturday Morning Cartoons" Dropping Mid May 2009. I believe the first single is "Do It Like You" previously released through The Weirdos.

Keep checking the DopeVideo88 YouTube Channel and this Blog-Site for a piece and interview with DJ Prince which should be posted soon.

Pacific Division performs "Mayor" live at New York City's Knitting Factory. They do the patented Mayor dance, with friends on stage including Amanda Diva back there, poet, radio host,Yo Momma contestant. I was a skeptic of PAC DIV at first glance but they have really surprised me with the new tracks, I'm becoming more of a fan with every new song I hear and every live performance I catch.
Slow on the posts the last few days, lack motivation when no one comments.
Piece on DJ Prince coming soon, with interview and exclusive video/tracks.

Look familiar? Ever since I posted the The Cool Kids-"Delivery Man" video up on the DopeVideo88 YouTube page people have been hounding me down asking where they could find the wallet seen in the picture. I thought these things would never be found.
Well here they are, these one of a kind retro wallets are hand made and can be brought here for about $39 bucks.
Looks like they don't have the "Delivery Man" cassette up on the site just yet, but stay posted, who knows. Bassicaly what most likely happened is Green Label Sound(Mountain Dew) ordered up one of these cassette wallets for promtional purposes of the track "Delivery Man",who knows what they did with it after, but maybe just maybe the wallet is sitting the in back of Mikey Rocks pocket right now.

The Cool Kids-Black Mags(Live) feat. Pac Div and Werdplay
For all you avid DopeVideo88 fans, remember I was telling you about this Cool Kids show at the Highline Ballroom on one of my videos... where the tickets were going for 150 dollars a pop. Anyway I was planning on going to this show but lets just say the price didn't meet my taste.
Damn I wish I did, from all the videos I saw this show was crazy. In this particular video The Cool Kids are performing their biggest hit to date,"Black Mags" and they bring everyone up on stage who performed before them that night. They start to do "The Mayor" whats that you ask, I'll get to that in my next post.
Further along they hand the mic over to Werdplay, you know the sick rapper I was talking about a few posts ago, and he kills his verse of "Blestenation's"-Black Mags Remix.
The Cool Kids really know how to put on a ill show, I'm in talks with the person who recorded these videos to let me upload them to the DopeVideo88 channel, in till than keep checking the channel and the site and be on the look out for the next post.
