Well, the wait is over: After weeks of speculation, Drake has chosen to go with the home team and sign with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records, according to a source close to the situation. The deal breaks down as a joint venture between Young Money and Cash Money, with Universal Republic distributing. Drake’s management was adamant that he should be viewed as an independent artist, although Universal will distribute the project.
“Today is a definitely a comfortable day for me, having my team now that’s been in place for a couple of years. It’s just a great day,” Drake said. “It’s something new, but it feels familiar.”
Drizzy is excited about having a corporate push to help with the momentum he’s gained independently.
“Independent is a funny term,” he told MTV News on the set of his video for “Best I Ever Had.” “I can go independent, but you need distribution, period. You need somebody to distribute your record and you need that army that a label has to really push the record.”
The Internets is going crazy about how genius this idea is to distribute samplers.
I'm not really seeing the genius in it though, bands have been doing this since the dawn of time. I guess in the hip hop game its been primarily Internet based distribution for free stuff, so it's cool that there are some hard copies out there.

Bread & Butter is getting into the product game for this year’s Berlin edition. Together with New Era they present two 59fifty fitted caps. The caps were inspired by the US Air Force and are perfectly in line with the new tradeshow location, an old Berlin airport. The caps come in nav and in white with embroidery details on the brim and upper, along with some small print details. The caps will go on sale at the B&B For Charity stores in Berlin next week.
The entire video is a metaphor. I’m a coach of a high school basketball team. As a young man, I guess I’m not ready to commit to one person. Several Best Buy outlets are completely sold out of Michael Jackson albums and the 25th anniversary edition of Thriller is currently out of stock at online retail outlet Amazon.com.
Bill Carr, vice president of music and video at Amazon says, "This is simply unprecedented.” In addition to the legendary Thriller album, Amazon is also out of all Jackson and Jackson 5 albums."We've seen the death of Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra and many other artists, but none of them compare to what we're witnessing today,” Carr added.
So exactly how popular is Jackson’s music these days?
"In the last 24 hours, we've actually sold more Michael Jackson albums in our MP3 and CD stores than we have in the 11 years since the launch of our music business," he said.

Bo Jackson’s signature cross-trainer, the Nike Air Trainer SC, returns nearly 10 years after its original launch, in its original colors. This is the color that was featured in the first “Bo Knows” commericals of the early 90’s, and helped establish the Air Trainer line as a success. Parisian ad agency Fred & Farid just received a Lion D’Or at the Cannes Festival for their ad campaign for Wrangler, which was shot by American photographer Ryan McGinley. We can only say that it was well deserved. The “We Are Animals” campaign looks very impressive, with each image communicating a very strong message and just an indulging overall mood.

Pop icon Michael Jackson has been reportedly rushed to UCLA Medical Center, this according KTLA. The man responsible for numerous platinum and diamond albums was taken by ambulance, when he called 911 at 12:21 pm PST, suffering a cardiac arrest. Paradmedics responded and confirmed.
UPDATE (5:45 PM EST): Website TMZ.com has reported that Michael Jackson has been pronounced dead at 50 years old. Paramedics were unable to revive the Pop star. He is survived by three children.
Jackson has worked with numerous Hip Hop stars, ranging from Notorious B.I.G. to Kriss Kross to Mel-Man. The onetime Jackson 5 frontman had been largely evasive from media the last two decades, after a controversial relationship with children that he was legally cleared of. His work has been sampled by numerous Hip Hop acts, including Naughty By Nature, Lil Romeo and Scram Jones.
Jackson's influence on Hip Hop was immense. From tracks like Ghostface Killah's "All That I've Got Is You," 2Pac's "Thug Nature" to De La Soul's "Breakdawn," the Indiana-born singer, producer and entertainer was sampled and interpolated. Having worked with producers in Hip Hop ranging from Quincy Jones and Teddy Riley to Swizz Beatz and Mel-Man, Jackson's appeal drove the culture, as Jackson professed publicly to be a fan of Hip Hop.

News:Michael Jackson Music Sales Through The Roof
Like Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G. and others, record sales for the late pop icon Michael Jackson have spiked in the days following the singer’s untimely passing.
According to new reports, the demand for Jackson’s music has far exceeded the supply, leaving retailers rushing to fill backorders for The King of Pop.
Several Best Buy outlets are completely sold out of Michael Jackson albums and the 25th anniversary edition of Thriller is currently out of stock at online retail outlet Amazon.com.
Bill Carr, vice president of music and video at Amazon says, "This is simply unprecedented.” In addition to the legendary Thriller album, Amazon is also out of all Jackson and Jackson 5 albums."We've seen the death of Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra and many other artists, but none of them compare to what we're witnessing today,” Carr added.
So exactly how popular is Jackson’s music these days?
"In the last 24 hours, we've actually sold more Michael Jackson albums in our MP3 and CD stores than we have in the 11 years since the launch of our music business," he said.
For those who cannot get enough of Michael Jackson music, there may be one—or several—posthumous albums released.

Bo Jackson’s signature cross-trainer, the Nike Air Trainer SC, returns nearly 10 years after its original launch, in its original colors. This is the color that was featured in the first “Bo Knows” commericals of the early 90’s, and helped establish the Air Trainer line as a success. Parisian ad agency Fred & Farid just received a Lion D’Or at the Cannes Festival for their ad campaign for Wrangler, which was shot by American photographer Ryan McGinley. We can only say that it was well deserved. The “We Are Animals” campaign looks very impressive, with each image communicating a very strong message and just an indulging overall mood.

News: Michael Jackson Dead at 50
Pop icon Michael Jackson has been reportedly rushed to UCLA Medical Center, this according KTLA. The man responsible for numerous platinum and diamond albums was taken by ambulance, when he called 911 at 12:21 pm PST, suffering a cardiac arrest. Paradmedics responded and confirmed.
UPDATE (5:45 PM EST): Website TMZ.com has reported that Michael Jackson has been pronounced dead at 50 years old. Paramedics were unable to revive the Pop star. He is survived by three children.
Jackson has worked with numerous Hip Hop stars, ranging from Notorious B.I.G. to Kriss Kross to Mel-Man. The onetime Jackson 5 frontman had been largely evasive from media the last two decades, after a controversial relationship with children that he was legally cleared of. His work has been sampled by numerous Hip Hop acts, including Naughty By Nature, Lil Romeo and Scram Jones.
Jackson's influence on Hip Hop was immense. From tracks like Ghostface Killah's "All That I've Got Is You," 2Pac's "Thug Nature" to De La Soul's "Breakdawn," the Indiana-born singer, producer and entertainer was sampled and interpolated. Having worked with producers in Hip Hop ranging from Quincy Jones and Teddy Riley to Swizz Beatz and Mel-Man, Jackson's appeal drove the culture, as Jackson professed publicly to be a fan of Hip Hop.

Sneakers: Alife x Barneys Everybody High Scratch Pack

Once again Alife teams up with Barneys New York. For Summer 2009 they worked on the Everybody High Scratch Pack, which consists of three colorways - mustard, grey and burgundy.
