The Game Is a Complete Idiot
So it looks like The Game will be releasing four mixtapes in the span of one week. Does this dude have management or a brain? How about; instead of releasing one quality mixtape, we release four crappy ones!! Or; you know what, instead of equally spacing out the release dates of these four mixtapes in till Game's album drops, we just put them all out right now!! These dudes are morons, Game and management included.
Anyway here are the names of Game's four upcoming mixtapes;
Paint the Town R.E.D. w/ Nu Jerzey Devil, R.E.D. October w/ DJ Drama, Redprint w/ DJ Haze, Red Tape w/ DJ Kris Stylez.
We get the idea... your in the Cripssuuuweeewps, meant the Bloods.
Trick or treat? Originally not planned for a public release, we’ve decided to drop a limited run of these hyper-colored TK’s after hearing your cries for blood. 600 pairs of each colorway will be produced – which means these joints are going to dissappear faster than the full-size candy bars your cool neighbor leaves out on the front porch tomorrow night. Current release is set for late November. Stay up on the blog for more info as it comes available.
Given earlier leaks from the project, did you make many changes to the final version? As of now Rebirth is coming out as a double disc with a [disc of songs] by Young Money. I had to add new cuts because a lot of things leaked, making people think they had an idea of what I was doing with Rebirth and what it would sound like. And I hated that because I never want anybody to think they know what I’m doing until I present it. So what I did was make it totally different I flipped it.
Does the album still lean toward rock? Yes, the album is still rock. I play guitar on 80% of the songs and there’s a lot of rock influences and rock beats. I also have Travis Barker on the album. But I don’t want people to think I’m trying to do something I can’t do. Don’t think you’re going to put on the album and hear me screaming and singing . . . Don’t worry about that [laughs]. When people hear me say rock, they may get a little scared like, Oh, God. What is he going to do? When I said I was doing a rock album, it was about doing a freedom thing. This album isn’t hip-hop. When I do my Carter albums, I know I’ve got to rap, I know I’ve got to spit. I know the words I’ve got to say and the subjects I’ve got to talk about. I also know the things I shouldn’t say, the things I shouldn’t talk about. There’s none of those limits on this album. I say what I want, how I want. That’s what this album is: a freedom album. And rock is the avenue that gives you that freedom. I’m just having fun, that’s all. Trust me: People will like these songs. It’s my job to make them love them, but I know for a fact they’ll like them.
3:35-4:00 I love the way 50 did with his dawgs. If you look at it, them dudes got more money and more bread than anybody in State Property. Cuz 50 made sure of that. 50 went on tour AND paid them. Not tell them it was a good look for them to be on the tour and things like that. True story, I’m sitting on house arrest and the Young Gunz call my phone cuz Jay-Z is only paying them $1200 a show. And they had to split it.
Another Game joint just hit the internets, does his camp know how to work this whole internet thing... or are they just gonna let all his material leak in one day? Supposedly this track is going to be on Game's upcoming "Gangsta Grillz" mixtape.
Lupe Fiasco – The Congress Theatre Freestyle (Video)
Here is some footage of Lupe spitting a capella during his performance at the Congress Theatre in Chicago last night.
People who were at the show last night were quoted as saying it was "the best Lupe show ever." Anyway, looks like Lu has at leats 4 more albums coming after L.A.S.E.R.S drops. Is he getting a little ahead of himself?
I read an article the other day about how some people thought Beanie was trying to diss Jay-Z at a recent show he was doing with him. I was gonna post it up but I thought people were just reading into things to much and trying to start drama. Well it turns out the show on-goers were correct on their assumptions, and here the the official diss track to prove it.
Video:Jay-Z - Empire State Of Mind (Feat. Alicia Keys) Yankee Stadium Live
This is just so amazing to watch, could this happen anywhere else, with any other baseball team? I don't think so... New York is such a special place its crazy.
Just hours after the street single hits the internets, Game’s official single drops (via Rap-Up) off The R.E.D. Album (12/8). Featuring a crazy beat by Cool & Dre and a horrible hook by Jayceon. Someone get Curtis on the jack.
Throwback T-Days: Souls Of Mischief - From 93 Till Infinity (Video)
Oh god if this isn't a classic than I don't know what is. How many times has this track been sampled over the years? Countless times... can you name any tracks that have sampled this beat?
Shouts to KillaKail for the suggestion... what do you think the next "Throwback T-Day" video should be?
Robert Williams x Vans Vault Era for DQM | A Closer Look
DQM offers a better look at the hand painted Robert Williams Vans Vault Era’s. “If you haven’t already, make sure you take a minute to watch the video of him rolling out the canvas in his garage, painting it, bringing it to China and having it cut up and placed on the shoe. You don’t see an effort like that on most artist shoe collaborations. This is a true collectors item. On sale Saturday morning 10/31 only at DQM.”

This is the latest video from P.O.S's album entitled yup you guessed it,... Never Better. Also P.O.S is nominated for a 'Woodie' this year, I know I'm voting for him... are you?
The Mixtape Weezy replaces Drake & Jeezy’s verses with his own. This should be on the finished version of No Ceilings.
This track just shows how easy it is to give a track to someone by re arranging verses. People underestimate how much Weezy did for Drake... Wayne gave Drake so many of his tracks to be his own, this is just an example.

The Game leaked his street single for The R.E.D. Album (12/8), one of two leaks he said he’d do… The other is rumored to be a main single, “L.A. Girl” with Chris Brown & Pharrell.

So it turns out No Ceilings leaked late last night in a .WMA format. Someone than converted into .MP3 format, and here it is... the long awaited mixtape from soon to be jailbird Lil Wayne; No Ceilings. There will be one of those nice bold red updates about what I think about the mixtape after I get back from class, but more importantly after I throw this into my car sound system. UPDATE: From the first run I took with this mixtape the one thing that stands out to me is that there are so many more bangers than expected. Like, every other track is the best track on the tape. What are you thinking about it so far?

Throwback T-Days: Special Ed- Think About It (Video)
Here goes another DopeBlog88 tradition that was lost in the new website shuffle; "Throwback T-Days." What the hell is Throwback T-Days?! It's a pretty simple concept, on Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be posting a throwback video or song. One in the morning and one at night. Well I already missed the morning video, so lets start of with the night video. Special Ed- "Think About It" is a claaasssiiiccc video, typical eighties rap video antics. Check it out and leave a comment on what you think should be the next "Throwback T-Day" video.
There's no one quite like Drake. The Toronto native and Degrassi star-turned-hip-hop-savior — real name: Aubrey Drake Graham — has got a soulful voice that makes females melt, and a propulsive flow that's snatched the attention of backpackers and club rats alike. He’s also more likely to be jamming Silversun Pickups than Lil’ Jon — and instead of rolling 35-deep through America's hottest clubs, he'd rather stay at home and cook. Drake’s independent single, "Best I Ever Had," from the breakthrough mixtape, So Far Gone, shot him to superstardom earlier this year, and now his single "Forever” (which features guest appearances by Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem) is the hottest posse cut of the year. The retail EP of So Far Gone just dropped last month, and Drake’s got the world by the balls…yet he's still about as humble as it gets. While in the midst of working on his upcoming full-length debut, Thank Me Later, Drake talked to ShockHound about his kinship with Jean Claude Van Damme, the love story behind So Far Gone, and why you can’t just be a rapper these days.
SHOCKHOUND: "Fear" was a solid new addition to the retail version of So Far Gone. What's the story behind the song?
DRAKE: "Fear" actually started before I did the So Far Gone mixtape even. I basically began with this record produced by DJ Khalil, and the beat and the way the strings cry tugged at me emotionally. I knew I needed to live a lot more before I could do the music justice. With that being said, I did one-and-a-half verses and quit. I had stopped after I said this line, "I never cried when Pac died, but I probably will when Hov does." I took a break after that because I didn't know where to go from there, and my story wasn't complete yet. I didn't have the song title. I didn't have the hook. I didn't know where I was going with it. I just knew I had a place to start, so I let it sit for six to eight months. It was my choice to put new material on the So Far Gone EP. I thought I could finally finish "Fear" then…I felt like I was ready to finish off those thoughts. I continued the second verse and finished the third verse, which is kind of dedicated to the people around me and what we've been going through as of late. Then I came up with this hook that was like, "Please don't be scared of me." That song is very reflective of where I'm at right now.
SHOCKHOUND: Is "Fear" the best indication of what Thank Me Later will sound like?
DRAKE: Yeah, I think so. Lyrically, I want to keep the album as genuine and honest as "Fear" is, but musically there will be a little more energy. There will be more moments of triumph, because my life is the best it's ever been in my 22 years of existence. I want my music to reflect that, but I still want to be able to relate and connect with people. It's a good indication. There will obviously be some variation — not every track is going to sound like that. I was actually going to save "Fear" for the album, but I wanted to give people another reason to buy the EP. In addition to having an official hard copy of So Far Gone, I wanted to give people something new, so that was my sacrifice.
SHOCKHOUND: Do you feel like you dig a little bit deeper than most mainstream rappers do? Your lyrics are extremely personal, but the music possesses a pop sensibility. You're giving the world something that's special to you in palatable form.
DRAKE: I appreciate that compliment. My goal and objective with music is to combine all the elements that I loved about music growing up. I love listening to songs from artists where I really feel like they're getting personal and exposing their lives. One song I always felt a lot of emotions from was "Lucille" by Anthony Hamilton. I remember the feeling I got from that, because it seemed like he was really telling a story. Even though he's not telling me all about his life, I'm able to mentally picture where he's at, what the bar looks like and what the woman looks like. He evokes emotion in individuals and provides them with vivid imagery where they can use their imaginations. I like to combine that storytelling style with great melodies and intelligent hooks that you remember. I love to do that, and it's working.
SHOCKHOUND: Given all of the visuals in So Far Gone, if it were a movie, what would it be?
DRAKE: Wow, that's a great question! It's funny because the first six songs of the So Far Gone mixtape are in sequence. They tell the story of a relationship that I was in. It starts out with this monologue on "Lust for Life." There's a movie called JCVD with Jean Claude Van Damme. In the film, there's a scene where he rises up above and starts talking directly to the camera [about] his life. That's kind of what "Lust for Life" is for me. I was living in this relationship for so long that I just felt like I was rising up out of my own movie or something. The opening line says it all, "I'm trying to do it all tonight, I got plans, I got a certain lust for life." I start speaking on where my mind is at, as opposed to the routine that I've fallen into. From "Lust for Life," it goes into "Houstatlantavegas." I was with this female at the time, and that song is about where I felt her head was at. She was lost in a world that I understood very well, but I didn't understand why she was there. From there, it goes into "Successful," which is my direct speech to her. It says, "I just want to be successful." It's an actual conversation that I had with Trey Songz when I felt trapped in this relationship. I told him, "I really want to make this work. I want to be successful, and I want to feel like I'm doing everything I can to achieve that." After that, the album goes into "Let's Call It Off." That's obviously about me breaking up with this girl. The next song, "November 18th,” is about the first trip that I ever took to meet Lil' Wayne in Houston. That mini-story resolves with Wayne and I on "Ignant Shit." It shows our chemistry, and that sparked the energy we have. I would take those six songs and make a mini-movie out of them. It's a love story.
SHOCKHOUND: You have to give fans more these days. Listeners need to feel a part of something. How does that impact what you do?
DRAKE: I love some of the new guys on the scene. I listen to their music, and I enjoy it. It's hard just to be a rapper or just to be an MC. It's hard because people our age and in our generation get so much all the time. They're able to download so much information at once due to the new communication tools and the Internet — the way our media is structured. They expect so much more from everything that comes out, whether it be a new cell phone or flat screen TV. They expect each new gadget to do the unthinkable. It's the same with people. My generation doesn't necessarily find love the same way that my mother's generation used to, because they expect so much that they don't even know what to draw from a human being or what to latch on to. They don't know how to choose qualities that make them say, "Okay, this person is an individual that I want to stay with." I think it's the same for artists. You've really got to come out and offer people something that's never been done before or something at a very high level. Take someone like Kanye West who produces, sings, writes and does fashion. He's beyond the full package. I think that's becoming requirement these days. You have to do everything.
SHOCKHOUND: There's no other way to be successful with how tough the game is.
DRAKE: I think it's great, because it's going to make for a new class of artists that's never been seen before. It pushes us all to work a little harder and to delve into other crafts and perfect those too. You have to learn more. You can't only rap anymore.

Shaheem asks Jay about rumors of his next tour with Jeezy at the top of the year. Than Shaheem DV suggests that Hova should go on a retirement home tour, and maybe post up at the last stop for good. (Yes I just refereed to myself in the third person, and yes I said Hova should retire, yikes!)

Screenshot... CHOMPERS! Anyway, Nicki tries to tell them she has 250k+ followers because she loves her fans... yeah I'm sure that is the reason. Also, I never seen this side of Wahhlayy, but he's a funny dude. UPDATE:I just watched this video again, it almost seems like Niki Minaj is someone's little sister and she is just trying to fit in, like do anything to be accepted. Anyway, thats all for this random update blurb.
Previewed earlier this year, the Nike Dunk Mid Premium from the November 2009 delivery has released at select retailers. Video: Behind The Scenes of Lil Wayne’s No Ceilings Mixtape
If the three tracks that have already leaked from No Ceilings are a sign of whats to come from the rest of the mixtape, than it looks like "Mixtape Weezy" is back and better than ever. What's your favorite Weezy mixtape? I'm gonna have to go with Da Drought 3...
This is leak number two from the Pugs Atomz & Rashid Hadee collabo album; Stormy.
There is an interview underway with Pugs and myself,I think. I believe he is touring in the UK right now, hopefully he will get back to me when he hits the states with his part of the interview! Yikes!
Video: Kid Cudi Says Kanye Is Not In Rehab Or India
…In particular, the whispers that West has taken refuge in an Indian ashram, or that he’s being pressured by those close to him to check into rehab.
“All that’s definitely false. I mean … rehab for what? Being awesome?” Cudi told MTV News backstage at the Ulalume Festivalin Columbia, Maryland last weekend. “We talk every once in a while. Like I said, he’s like a brother to me, I worry just as much as the next person, but when I say Kanye is cool, believe me, Kanye is OK. He’s a strong dude, I mean, we’ve seen him grow from College Dropout to now … the things he’s dealt with, the things he’s been through. He’s a strong dude.”
But until Kanye makes his return, Cudi will be honored to carry Kanye’s mantle — starting on November 27, when he steps into West’s Air Yeezys on Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour. “I didn’t get his blessing or anything, I just agreed because it’d be an honor. From what I heard, Kanye backed out from the tour, because he wanted to work on something — maybe a project — or just wanted to take some time off,” Cudi said. “And ain’t nothing wrong with that. It’s not like he got fired, and I was like ‘I’m taking your job!’ It’s like, ‘Ye fell back, and I was like ‘OK.’ ”
Video: Jay-Z Talks “Empire State Of Mind” Performance At World Series This Wednesday
Jay-Z loves to take hip-hop where it has never gone before — well, how about the World Series? Hov and Alicia Keys will be performing the Big Apple anthem “Empire State of Mind” on Wednesday at the new Yankee Stadium before game one’s first pitch is thrown, Jay confirmed to MTV News on Monday (October 26).
Wow can I predict the future or what... check the previous post to see what I am talking about.
Pac Div, Dom Kennedy, TiRon and hosts L.A.U.S.D. took a trip from L.A. to San Diego, stopping by The Attic for a Meet-N-Greet with fans and then shut down Club Decco with live performances.
ItsTheReal.com has re-upped with the Re-Uppers themselves, Pusha and Malice, for a public service announcement for both children and adults who claim to be children: Re-Up Harangue. We shot it 4 cheap.
Lets start the week off with some new (very old) Jay Electronica. This past weekend a few unreleased joints from Jay Elec hit the net. This one is called “Suckas” and has Jay gettin’ busy over a Dilla beat you’ve probably heard before. It hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s believed this was recorded in the early 2000’s and meant for the LP, War With The Dragon. The homie Sweeney dug up this interview clip that may shed more light, in regards to recording over Dilla’s beats: “well they were songs that I recorded before he passed, but we didn’t work on them together. The songs of mine over Dilla beats are from an album I did back then called war with the dragon and we hadn’t had the opportunity to work then.”
A snippet leaked last week. Now here is the full version via a Myspace rip of Timbaland’s second single off his upcoming album, Shock Value 2 dropping November 23rd. BONUS: An old Drake reference track that was never finished.
Wale takes some time on the Jay-Z college tour to check in with those On-Air Idiots and talks about how he didn’t feel he deserved to be on the MTV list this year, how important the MTV list is, and if there is pressure being on Roc Nation
If you are in the greater New York City area, get ready to hear "Empire State Of Mind" blasting from your local radio stations even louder and more frequently for the rest of today and tomorrow. I don't usually do sports posts on here (I used to a little when the site was known as DopeBlog88) and I don't plan on doing that many. If you didn't already know though, the New York Yankees just won the ALCS and I live in New York City. It is quite a scene in the streets right now. Not close to the reaction the streets get when the Yankees win a World Series but it sure is something. Some people are throwing newspapers and various other debris out their apartment windows, but most are just choosing to honk their horns and yell out their windows while blasting yes you guessed it, "Empire State Of Mind" from their sound systems. I'm not gonna say I am a hardcore Yankees fan, or even a baseball fan for that matter (more of a die-hard football fan.) I am a Yankees fan by location, not by choice. I just hope they win the World Series, so the city can really get it live in the streets.
Weezy is pulling a T.I hear by releasing a flurry of new/unreleased tracks before he goes behind bars. #cantcomplain! This track is off Wayne's upcoming mixtape No Ceilings, which drops on Halloween.
Considering their collab with Cam’ron leaked the other day, DJ Hyphen decided to post a segment from his interview with Pusha & Malice in which they speak on how the track came about, their motivation behind the record and how Cam declined their offer for him to be on the Grindin’ remix. Look for the full interview to be released soon.
Inspired by the original Air Force 180, Nike presents for Holiday 2009 this new Auto Force 180. The sneaker comes with slight modifications, giving it a more casual and less of a basketball style look. The colors stay true to the predecessor and the outcome is an overall nice looking sneaker. I'm not quite sure why Joell is always trying to measure something with his hands, but thats besides the point. Joell comes back just 24 hours after he murked fiddy's latest single and lays down some bars about that head pounding, dry mouthed, throw-up tasting Sunday hangover.

UPDATE: I brought this post up to the top for today, new posts can be found bellow.
First off let me say thank you to everyone who has viewed anything I have ever posted on either TheMaskedGorilla.Com or the DopeVideo88 You Tube channel. You are the ones who are making it possible for me to be even doing any of this! So thank you for bringing me this far! I hope I have given you some quality material in return…
I need some more help from you all though. The site is going through some trouble, in order to fix the problems it will take over $300!! I don’t have that kind of money, as I am currently working my self through college. You can read all about the problems with the site at the link in the sidebar. Now let me get to the fun part!
When I got these stickers printed up, I was thinking of ways to distribute them. Should I sell them, just send them out for free to whoever wants them, what should I do?! I came to the conclusion that you guys would probably not want to buy these just straight up. I also don’t have the means to just send out packages all over the country (world maybe?!)
So the thought came across my mind to have a raffle! Each “raffle ticket” will cost ten dollars, you can buy as many as you please. But only 20 will be sold! (Or in till the buying period runs out) When you purchase a ticket you will automatically receive 10 stickers in the mail (as pictured.) Your name will than be thrown in a “digital hat” to be selected from to win additional prizes!
So what are these prizes? The GRAND PRIZE winner will receive; a RARE out of print Cool Kids T-shirt, a DV made CD Mix-Tape, Local Graffiti sticker art, and a hand written note from myself. Four RUNNER-UPS will receive; a DV made CD Mix-Tape, Local Graffiti sticker art, and a hand written note from myself.
Also, I’m pretty sure out of the goodness of my heart I will be throwing in random assorted goodness into everyone’s initial sticker package. What if you don’t like The Cool Kids T-shirt and you don’t want any of the other prizes? I hope that you all will buy the “raffle ticket” (stickers) anyway, just to help me out in this tough situation.
DETAILS - You may purchase as many "raffle tickets" as you would like. - Each raffle ticket extends your chance to win prizes. - Only twenty tickets will be sold, over the two week time period. - When the two week time period runs out, raffle tickets can no longer be purchased. - A shipping/PayPal free of $3.58 will be applied to the order. - Purchase only accepted through PayPal.
Thank you for sitting through this video, or reading this write-up on my website. If you have any questions about this feel free to email me at “DopeVideo88@Gmail.com” Links in the side bar to pictures of stickers and Cool Kids t shirt, as well as the transcript of this video. UPDATE: RAFFLE IS NOW CLOSED
Three unreleased tracks from Jay Electronica via an anonymous source. I'm not sure where this tracks are from or where they will end up, but I'll keep you updated when the news comes in. UPDATE: Jay says that’s not him on “Uprock.” The other two tracks have been confirmed to be from 2001.
