3,000 Posts, Two Years, One College Student

NOTE: It’s a slow day, so I figured I would explain what is going on with TheMaskedGorilla.com re-launch, masked as a celebratory 3,000th post.

Unknowingly, two Thursdays ago, November 18th, the 3,000th post was made on TheMaskedGorilla.com. For just about the last two years, TheMaskedGorilla.com has been updated multiple times, every single day. There has not been one day for the last two years where a post was not made concerning that days freshest new music, fashion, or news story. All of these posts strictly dedicated to new school hip hop.

TheMaskedGorila.com is now widely respected as the voice of the youth of hip hop, proven by frequently being invited to cover events as press. Such events include: Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Deal Or No Deal’ New York City album release party, The XXL Magazine 2010 Freshmen Live Showcase, Curren$y’s ‘Pilot Talk’ private DD172 album listening party, Def Jam’s Rapstar video game release party, and countless other live events and concerts. Through this time, and these posts, TheMaskedGorilla.com has become the absolute authority in new school hip hop.
With that being said, TheMaskedGorilla.com has overgrown this current layout, and the Blogger platform overall. With millions of hits, and thousands upon thousands of daily unique visitors, it’s time for a new website. If you’ve been following long enough, you already know this re-launch has been in the works for over a year, and since August I’ve been claiming it would happen “any week now”.
So what’s taking so long? This re-launch is more than just a new “layout”, it is a complete overhaul resulting in a new multi-page, fully funtioning website. There are countless interviews already filmed and edited sitting on YouTube on private ready to go, all of the features (Mixtape Monday, Old School Tomfoolery, Saturday Skate Sesh etc.) are coming back better than ever with new features to go along with them, and there will be a revolutionary new platform for upcoming artists to be discovered and posted on TheMaskedGorilla.com.
So please, hang in there until I find someone to code the already completely designed site. Until than, I just want to give a big THANK YOU to EVERYONE. The viewers, artists, managers, magazines, record labels, clothing companies, bloggers, blogs, websites and of course friends and family who have supported TheMaskedGorilla.com over these 3,000 posts and into the future.
