Chances are you've seen the latest Jeremy Scott Adidas creation by now. Officially known as the Jeremy Scott x adidas Roundhouse Mid “Handcuffs,” the shoes have been causing a stir on the internet, leading to the kicks being donned as "The Shackle" with claims of a racist undertone due to the outrageous design.
The outrage grew to such a high level, that Adidas has pulled the shoes from ever reaching retail. Check out the official statement below.
"[The sneaker] is nothing more than the designer Jeremy Scott's outrageous and unique take on fashion and has nothing to do with slavery. Since the shoe debuted on our Facebook page ahead of its market release in August, Adidas has received both favorable and critical feedback. We apologize if people are offended by the design and we are withdrawing our plans to make them available in the marketplace"
