With 'Dreams & Nightmares' officially hitting stores October 30th, the album has just leaked in it's entirety. As a possible sign of things to come, it doesn't seem fans are all that interested. This of course comes in the wake of Kendrick Lamar's debut effort being dubbed by critics and fans alike as, the album of the year.
For the last few weeks, hip hop as a whole has shifted it's collective focus towards Kendrick Lamar. The hype and praise surrounding his debut album 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' took over the airwaves and blogosphere. This has led nearly everyone to forget that Meek Mill is releasing a debut album of his own, just a week after Kendrick's.
Meek Mill's team is taking on the "Most Anticipated Debut Album Of The Year" slogan, in advertising 'Dreams & Nightmares.' It seems as if Meek's camp welcomed this release nightmare by moving the date from late August to a week after Kendrick's.
Is that a smart move? Probably not. After it was revealed that Kendrick's album will move hundreds of thousands of copies in the first week, it's unlikely that Meek's album will rival that in sales, and in the eyes of critics in content either.
