Childish Gambino Explains Instagram Notes

Earlier this week Childish Gambino posted a series of notes on Instagram, where he spoke candidly about his life and feelings. This led fans and critics alike to believe Gambino could be suffering from depression. However, the actor turned rapper cleared the air with People Magazine recently, explaining that is not the case.

Gambino told the magazine: "If I'm depressed, everybody's depressed, I don't think those feelings are that different from what everybody's feeling. Most people just don't tell everybody. I was just tired of telling people I was tired. It felt like every day someone would ask, 'What's wrong. Are you OK?' "And I would say, 'I'm tired, I'm tired.' I didn't want to do that anymore. I guess sometimes not telling the truth is just as bad as telling a lie."

He went on to say: "I'm glad people saw it. I feel like I got some stuff out there," he says. "I got it off my chest. It felt like I had been holding on to something."

Who isn’t depressed these days? people act as if its the equivalent to having fucking cancer. Im depressed every single day and nobody gives a flying fuck, and you know what? I dont complain about it either. I just keep trucking and try to make this better.

I don’t get why more people aren’t like this on the internet. Just fucking be real.

because internet/geek/nerd culture is based entirely around sarcasm disguised as wit.

People use sarcasm and humor to cover up there actual feelings. Its avoidance of what they actually feel. Best thing to do is just be depressed and ask your self why. What is it you want in life? What do you want the future to be like? When are you actually happy? Is happiness something that you know? or are you just happy?

I do this when I get overly angry at something. Usually I’m angry about something else. I wish everyone took those moments of self-reflection.

Because everybody thinks they’re a special snowflake in their own little solipsistic world anymore and can’t conceive of the idea that anybody else could have similar problems they have.
