Someone told me in passing about Evan The Twerkgod. The name initially threw me off, but after I listened to his music, it definitely made sense. While old heads like Joe Budden would like you to believe you're not allowed to have fun rapping, that's pretty much the only kind of rap I want to listen to. Evan The Twerkgod is having a lot of fun rapping, like a lot. I wonder what he was like in high school. He seems like the kind of kid that was super funny but also said sort of fucked up things to teachers and made them feel uncomfortable. But in like, you know, a funny way. The first song that stuck out to me was "Lean Cuisine" which you can stream via Soundcloud below.   He also fucked around and recorded, a surprisingly hard song, with that 11 year old rapper kid on Twitter Matt OX. You can listen to that below as well.     After listening to a bunch of songs on his Soundcloud, I hit him up to premiere his new song "Views Of The Thick" and kick it off with a little interview. You can check out both below.     - Where are you from? I'm from all over really born in Detroit , moved to Atlanta. Then spent time in Texas as a youth. Then moved back to Michigan. I graduated from Northville Highschool.. nobody knows what the fuck that is or where Northville is at all, then I was jumping around. I definitely got my start in Detroit so I rep that. But I live in this deserted town called Pontiac. I like to be away from everyone.   - What does your name mean, exactly?  Evan is my name and Twerkgod came from me taking pictures at strip clubs. I used to be a strip club photographer and take pictures of local strip clubs.    - Very unexpected response. So, what was the craziest thing you saw happen at the strip club? Craziest thing I seen at the strip club, perhaps a fight, but I think some wild pole tricks like strippers hanging from ceilings and such.   - So, when did you start rapping?  I bull-shitted rap in high school, tried to get serious when I was 19 and bull-shitted more. But took it serious last year.    - When did you notice you started gaining some traction? What led to that? I was doing so many shows , and me and Piranha Gang was really just fucking shit up. I knew we really started to pop when I got offers to open up for headliners. Lil Yachty was the first, Lil Uzi Vert followed and then more and more came. I was also getting Twitter love, with one fan saying my name after she got her wisdom teeth pulled and one time during my performance a kid was dancing with a girl and came on her yoga pants. Shit like that made me know it was real.    - What are your main inspirations right now? Porn, Bruce Lee, Ninjas, Kanye West, and Instagram strippers.   - Can you explain the process behind "Views Of The Thick"? How long did it take to write/ record? Where did you record it? I wrote lyrics in about 10 minutes. Heizenburr started with the baseline and built the beat around the raps, I was zooted of a GURU energy drink. Tral Too Cool was high and we was watching Dragon Ball Z, all recorded in my basement. I hate the "studio setting," seems non-organized. I don't know. - Who are some of your personal favorite music to listen to right now? Hotel Seprino, NBDYS100, Me. Anything from Piranha Gang really.   - How did Piranha Gang start/ who is in it? Me, Heizenburr and Hennyman Marc started it being drunk on the car. Parked car to sober up. So we started freestyling and I said a line that was like "we all eat, we the piranha gang." After that I built the team with more people who wanted more from life. Arty Ghost, Solus Con, Hotel Seprino, and more. You really have to follow me to figure out more about what each person role is and how it all came to be. - Are there any other crews/ or rappers that you see on the rise now that you fuck with/ would want to work with? Umm, Lil Pump, Smokepurp, sure there are more I can't think of off the head. But those niggas look fun. I just want to have fun.   - What are you trying to accomplish over the next 6 months?  Get more money, have more fun, fuck more bitches.   - Where do you see yourself this time next year?  XXL Freshman 18 or/and a Porno Film.   Keep up with Evan The Twerk God: Twitter | Soundcloud | Instagram
