Even before he was officially a rapper, Lil House Phone has been super active in the underground Los Angeles rap scene. You might recognize the 22 year old Hawthorne, California figure from his guest-hosting duties on the No Jumper podcast. The name sounds like it was created in Soundcloud rap-name generator, but there's actually a real life story behind it. House Phone told us "I've never had a cell phone for longer than a couple of months so I use the house phone to do my dirt which is why they call me Lil House Phone. At first I used to say my phone number in my songs but then strangers started calling my house and my mom was pissed." We first became familiar with House Phone at UNMASKED earlier this summer. Alongside Robesman, Nedarb and Adam22, he's an integral member of the infamous DJ group, Adam22. He keeps the crowd all the way lit at Masked Gorilla shows. Actually, if you watch the $uicideboy$ UNMASKED episode you can hear him yell out "shout out to fucking masked gorilla one time" to the crowd at the very start of the video. But that's not what caught our attention, it was when he grabbed the mic from the DJ booth at UNMASKED and started rapping his song "What You Want." He had complete control of the crowd and it slapped over Nedarb production. So when Lil House Phone told us he was about to drop his debut EP, you know we were all over it.  '(310) 973-XXXX' features the banger "Ringin,'" along with production from Nedarb and features from Lil Tracy and Pollari over the 6 tracks. House Phone told us that the project was inspired by "overcoming the obstacle of not having a cell phone... Basically me rapping about wifi, having no service, texting bitches at Starbucks, and trapping off the house phone." Oh yeah and we should mention, the last four numbers of his phone number are "1337," so feel free to call. You can disconnect your house phone to dial up your internet and stream '(310) 973-XXXX' below.
