Last year we introduced you to LOE, the then 21 year old singer, with her work alongside producer Nedarb Nagrom. A year later LOE is ready to release another project, tonight we're premiering the first single from the currently untitled project "You Know."
You can stream "You Know," and check out our catch up interview with LOE, below.
How old are you & where are you from?
I'm 22 years old and I'm from Houston, Texas.
Where does your name come from?
Ehh, It's really just a nickname I gave myself when I was younger. There's really no nicknames for my government name (Laura), so I just went with Loe.
Who are you main music inspirations?
If I had to name some, I'd say Björk, Radiohead, Tame Impala, Sade, & Nirvana
Are there any current musicians that you look to and would want to travel a similair path they have through the industry?
A lot of the artists of my time aren't on the path I'd choose for myself. My influence comes from much older artists. Björk & Radiohead kind of fit my future path
I originally heard your music when you collaborated with producer Nedarb. What's the story behind how you linked up with him?
He just hit me up on Twitter one day through DM. He said he wanted to work on some stuff. When I started sending him back complete tracks, our sounds meshed so well that we just decided to do a whole album.
So, what have you been up to for the past year?
This past year I've been experimenting with different sounds. Which includes me producing a lot of my own beats. Trying to fully engulf myself in my own sound and actually being satisfied with what I'm creating
Can you tell us about this new song?
This song is titled "You Know", and it's basically about never being able to say I feel about a certain someone to their face. Residing on the other side of the United States, us both being spiritual beings, I believe astral projection can come into play. It's probably just a fantasy in my mind, but it makes me feel better. It's all about coping with my emotions and wants.
Can you go into detail about your new project?
I'm currently putting together an EP. It's untitled until completion, but it'll have production from various prominent producers and maybe even one produced by myself. There's a lot of growth on this project, more mature in nature. Honest writing, and less of the fantasy stuff I usually make
