Check Out Emerging Brooklyn Band LVL UP
A few Saturdays ago when I was flying from New York to Los Angeles, to produce the UNMASKED: Chris Travis concert that same day, I was powering through NPR podcasts on my iPhone trying to keep sane during the 5 hours of sitting in the same cramped seat.
It was during NPR's music-based podcast 'All Songs Considered' that I discovered one of my favorite new bands, LVL UP, and for a brief moment while listening forgot that I was losing circulation in my legs due to them being rammed up against the economy class seat in front of me.
LVL UP is 4 piece New York indie-band currently based out of Brooklyn, but who all met at SUNY Purchase in slightly-upstate Purchase, New York. The same little art school I went to in the middle of figuring out Masked Gorilla and what I was doing with my life.
The quartet are all around 25/ 26 years old now and recently signed to one of the most legendary indie labels of all time, Seattle based Sub Pop Records. In a few week they will release their first record on the label, 'Return To Love.' Over the past month LVL UP have released 3 singles from the project, "Hidden Driver," "Spirit Was," and "Pain."
With 'Return To Love' hitting shelves on September 23, LVL UP is currently on the road for a mix of their own shows, their record release, and support dates with Bear vs. Shark and Alex G. You can check out the full range of dates below.
