Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” Goes 7x Platinum


The platinum plaques for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are piling up. Today it was announced that the duo's breakout single "Thrift Shop" has officially sold over 7 million copies, passing the septuple platinum mark. Along with that, "Can't Hold Us" has went 4x platinum. 

Along with "Thrift Shop" going 7x platinum and "Can't Hold Us" reaching the 4x platinum mark, the Seattle duo's album The Heist went platinum and their single "Same Love" also went platinum.

      Considering when they released it they were independent and not signed to a label, quite a lot I would imagine. Sure as hell don’t have to shop at the thrift shop anymore.
