Mixtape Monday: The Cool Kids – ‘Tacklebox’

Oh like you didn’t see this one coming? For this edition of TheMaskedGorilla.com’s Mixtape Monday what other tape would I choose than a brand new Cool Kids mixtape that happen to drop on a Monday?

Well it’s finally here. After multiple tweets and a few leaks, even one personally sent over by Chuck Inglish himself to TheMaskedGorilla.com, Tacklebox has arrived. There has been some chatter in the comment sections of the last few Cool Kids posts about them falling off. Well the verdict is finally in, and it’s up to you to decide. This mixtape is tight. So Neat, Going Camping, Systems and Good Afternoon and Parking Lot go hard on this tape. And someone was flowing on Gettin Flicked.

I'm halfway through and I feel it has the same problem Gone Fishing had. :/ It doesn't have the energy of classic Cool Kids.

kinda feel the same way Drew but its still way doper than anyone out there right now IMO…It gets me fired up just to hear theirvoices over dope beats. Chuck is a masterrrrrr of production and MIkey still comes way witty. I loved that Gettin Flicked beat…that siren was hilarious.

It's definitely nice, but it just lacks that distinct sound they had with bake sale and that's stupid mixtapes.

to the people who miss that Bake Sale- Cool Ass Ninjas "sound". PLEASE remember, that was their FIRST project(s) ever. they're going to grow from that. and inevitably, out of that. this new stuff is hella good. and should be appreciated. it's more mature.

Its a great mixtape, but I agree its no bake sale/ cool ass ninjas, still great though, much better than the 3-5 hits on gone fishing

This mixtape is over at parking lot, tennile kills summer nights :/, and after that idk what that stuff what put on there for.. BUT OMG, when good afternoon hit I almost came to tears, REAL HIP HOP, best song I have heard in a long time, its like refreshing to hear, soothes the soul. For the one song alone I believe you should have this album if you enjoy music.

@ anonymous…..you didn't think "gettin' flicked" was good??? that's the best beat with a siren i've ever heard. usually they make me pull over or make my ears bleed.
