Pitchfork Media is a very popular Chicago based website specializing in indie rock news, reviews and other rock related subjects. In recent history however, Pitchfork is notoriously known for panning new hip hop albums with their reviews and 1 – 10 rating system.
Childish Gambino's 'Camp' just recently received a 1.6/10, now Mac Miller's debut effort 'Blue Slide Park' is next to be pummeled.
"…it does raise the question of why Miller is so popular, because despite his claim of being a cross between John Lennon and UGK, he's mostly just a crushingly bland, more intolerable version of Wiz Khalifa without the chops, desire, or pocketbook for enjoyable singles."
Pitchfork just released their review of Mac's debut, which you can preview above, along with rating the album a 1 out of 10. In all reality the actual review does raise some valid arguments, however it's safe to say that the rating is far off.
