On November 3rd YouTube will broadcast their first annual music award show. The YouTube Music Awards categories will span: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Response of the Year, YouTube Phenomenon, YouTube Breakthrough and Innovation of the Year.
Recently both Tyler, The Creator and Flying Lotus recently bashed the award show, expressing their displeasure with the categories.
Seems like the YouTube music awards are pretty much the same as the VMAs. I don’t really see the point.

If it’s all about hits sure I get it but let’s be fair. YouTube award nominations clearly don’t care about cutting edge/innovation. — FLYLO FM (@flyinglotus) October 22, 2013
They had an opportunity to shine a light on all the artists that they helped to gain notoriety just to shit on them for uber famous acts — FLYLO FM (@flyinglotus) October 22, 2013
