Tyler, The Creator’s ‘WOLF’ First-Week Sales Revealed


Last week we reported that Tyler, The Creator's recently released album 'WOLF' was projected to sell around 85,000 – 95,000 copies during the first week of being on sale.

Today the official numbers are in. The projection was spot on, with WOLF landing at the number three spot on the charts moving 89,895 copies. In terms of raw-sales, this puts WOLF on pace to be the most successful Odd Future retail release yet.

    Frank actually had more first week sales and higher charting with Channel Orange… he was 100,000 + and number 2… even though he is backed by a label he is still part of OF Records. We’ll see how Earl does.

      Pretty sure what they mean by that is the actual profit gained. Goblin sold 140k+ as of a year ago, but a huge chunk of that money went to Sony RED. This album was released under his own label, so even though he sold less, he sees the majority of the money if not nearly all of it. Frank Ocean has a label company so he only gets a chunk of the profit. Labels typically cash in huge from their artists selling, but they return the favor by buying them gifts such as when you see rappers get an expensive car or home.
