UNMASKED: Freddie Gibbs

The goal of The Masked Gorilla is to not just report new school hip hop news, but be apart of the very scene we cover. The bi-weekly 'Unmasked' feature is an in-depth video-interview series, featuring popular rappers from the TMG Top 50.

We met up with Gary, Indiana, new school rapper Freddie Gibbs just prior to his signing to Young Jeezy's CTE record label. We filmed about fifteen minutes with Freddie Gibbs, with the majority of that footage being with just Gibbs on screen. Unfortunately, all of the footage was lost. The only remaining footage from this interview is the above two and a half minute interview. This was used, and uploaded, as my Introduction To Video Art final project, which explains the intro.

Lost footage or not, this interview is still huge, so swag us out one time! We are getting right back in the flow of things next week with a TMG University Enrollment video, and another huge Unmasked the week after that.

Nope, the footage wasn’t lost in the conventional sense. Much more complicated (and legal) than files actually being “lost”.
